The Answers You Need
We have listed some of the questions and answers that we get asked most often about the waxing process. If you do not see an answer to your questions, please feel free to contact us.
vs. Bikini wax
A Brazilian wax removes all the hair down there, from front to back. Some women opt for leaving a neat little triangle, strip, or square of hair in front, but ultimately, its up to you to choose if you'd like to keep some or leave no man behind.
A standard bikini removes a little off the top and the sides. That typically means any hair that would be visible in a traditional swimsuit.
Will it hurt?
Yup. (Did you want me to lie?)
The first time is definitely the worst. I use hard wax at The Pretty Peach. Hard wax is preferable to strip when it comes to pain. It doesn't stick to the skin as much as strip wax.
If you're really worried about the pain take an ibuprofen 20 mins prior to waxing. Most women admit afterward that, "It really wasn't that bad."
Will I be naked?
No, not completely. If you are getting intimate waxing you will need to undress from the waist down, including your underwear. I know it can be a tad embarrassing for you but please remember; I do this ALL DAY! and I have truly seen it all. I do my very best to put you at ease, so please do not feel embarrassed.
How long does my hair need to be to be waxed?
The hair needs to be at least a quarter of an inch long, which equates to about 2 weeks of growth.
Let the hair grow. I will trim it to the appropriate length. Wax adheres to long hairs better than stubble. If you cut your hair too short you may not be happy with your results and the service may take longer and require excessive tweezing.
My period started!
Should I reschedule?
Not at all. Just tuck in a fresh tampon and I will "make it happen Captain". It happens all the time.
Just know that your skin may be more sensitive. Taking an ibuprofen 20 minutes prior to your service may help.
