Frequently Asked Questions
How long should my hair be for my wax?
To get best results, you should let the hair grow to at least ¼ inch, about the size of a grain of rice, or until the hairs lay down instead of sticking up. If your hair is longer than needed, we will trim the hair before the wax. If your hair is longer than needed, we will trim the hair before the wax.
It’s my first time waxing, will it hurt?
Yes! Did you want us to lie? Waxing removes the hair from the root which causes discomfort during removal. With proper waxing techniques, pain can be minimized but it all depends on your pain tolerance. Good news is, the more routine you are with your waxes, the less painful they should become!
What can I do to make my wax less painful?
Take an over-the-counter painkiller 30 minutes before your wax. Exfoliating prior to waxing may allow the hairs to be removed easier and with less discomfort. Distract yourself during your wax. Chatting with your esthetician or playing on your phone will help you relax and prevent you from focusing on the wax, which may help reduce the discomfort of waxing. The more routine you are with waxing, the less it hurts each time.
Can I wax if I'm on my period?
Definitely! We ask all clients during that time of month to wear a fresh tampon or diva cup for you wax. Keep in mind during your cycle, you may be more prone to sensitivity which may cause you to feel more discomfort during the wax than usual.
What is the difference between Bikini Line, Full Bikini and Full Brazilian?
A Bikini Line cleans the perimeter of your bikini area. We wax the top and sides of your bikini area to ensure when you're wearing your bikini no hairs are peeking out. A Full Bikini allows you to remove as much or as little hair from the front as you want. Take it all off or leave a neat triangle or landing strip. A Full Brazilian includes everything on the front with an added butt strip. We can leave you with a perfectly clean peach, or you can leave a neat triangle or landing strip on the front, up to you!
I just tanned, can I still wax?
We recommend waiting at least 24-48 hours between waxing and tanning as the skin may have increased sensitivity. Waxing may remove a spray tan before it sets into the skin. You should also wait 24-48 hours post wax to tan as waxing lightly exfoliates the skin which may make you more susceptible to sunburn.
How old do you have to be to get waxed?
If you are under 16 years old, we require you are accompanied by a parent/guardian for bikini/brazilian waxes, or your parent/guardian must sign our consent form to receive any waxing services.
Can I shave in between waxes?
We do not advise shaving in between waxes. Once you have been waxing regularly, you will begin to see the benefits of thinner, sparser growth and an increased time without regrowth, which shaving may disrupt.
How long will my facial wax last?
Facial waxing typically last 2-3 weeks before the peach fuzz returns. However, you can expect finer, thinner growth after each wax!
How long will my bikini/brazilian wax last?
Typically, your wax will last between 4-6 weeks but everyone's regrowth rate is different, so results will vary per person. If you have been shaving, there may be a transition period. It generally require 2-3 consistent waxes every 4-6 weeks to achieve optimal results; this includes approximately 3 weeks of hairlessness and softer, finer regrowth.
What is a Vajacial?
A vajacial is just as it sounds, a facial for the vagina. Our vajacials include waxing and are performed after the waxing service. Focusing on the bikini line, pubic mound and outer labia, we use steam, serums and a hydro jelly mask to detox, soothe and hydrate the skin. The Pampered Peach goes a step further with exfoliation, extractions and specialized products to tackle ingrowns, scarring and hyperpigmentation. Both packages soothe and rejuvenate the skin, leaving your peach with a healthy glow.
